LifeBridge is a non-profit food pantry dedicated to helping needy families (clients) in the Bailey area. It is a food pantry that started in 2012, which is distributing food from the Bailey Business Center to an average of 118 families a week.
Its humble beginnings began in our garage with a household refrigerator and freezer. We had to set up and tear down the tables each week and served an average of 14 households a week. March of 2016 we moved into the basement of Crow Hill Bible Church (CHBC). A year later in June of 2017 we moved into the Bailey Business Center (BBC) because CHBC was growing and needed the space. We have been there ever since.
In September of 2013 we had clients needing firewood. They didn’t have the finances to pay for firewood, electricity or gas to heat their homes during the winter months. We then started helping our clients with firewood. Our volunteers retrieve, block and split the firewood for our clients and in 2022 we gave out 78 cords.
In August of 2020, CHBC gave LifeBridge the Clothes Closet. Since then we have given out thousands of shoes, clothes and coats to our clients. The Clothes Closet is in the BBC next to the food pantry. We have volunteer’s pick-up, sort and give out the clothes that people donate. LifeBridge now has an opportunity to expand our ministry. We have had the owners approach us and offered to sell us the Bailey Business Center. The BBC has 11,429 square feet of space. LifeBridge is using 1865 square feet. Currently the building has two businesses in it and two apartments that are paying rent. The board has approved to purchase the BBC. Eventually we could fill the spaces with opportunities to help the poor with haircuts, counseling and dental services.
